De Gaulle Fleurance contributes to The Legal Industry Reviews France, Saudi Arabia Desk, 11th Edition
We are proud to have contributed to the 11th edition of LIR France with a pragmatic analysis of the EU Data Act and its far-reaching implications for access to, use of and sharing of data across the European Union.
In this edition, Cécile Théard-Jallu and Matthieu Dary, partners, together with Louisa Imatte, associate, provide an in-depth analysis of the new obligations introduced by Regulation (EU) 2023/2854, a cornerstone of the EU data economy framework.
The article examines in particular:
-
the reallocation of data access and control rights;
-
new rules on data sharing, interoperability and portability;
-
limits on unfair contractual terms;
-
the progressive implementation timeline through 2027.
These developments significantly impact manufacturers of connected products, digital service providers, data holders and users.
We extend our sincere thanks to LIR for this trusted collaboration and to our contributors for their rigorous and forward-looking analysis.
