Michel Matas joins De Gaulle Fleurance as partner in space, electronic communications and economic law (advisory and litigation)

Michel Matas, a lawyer specializing in newly regulated markets and former General Counsel of a major telecoms player, has joined De Gaulle Fleurance as a partner.

With 25 years’ experience, Michel Matas brings to the unified group of lawyers and notaries a solid expertise in space, telecommunications, market regulation, economic and competition law.

 

After obtaining a master’s degree in law from the University of Strasbourg and a post-graduate diploma (DEA) in European law from the Institut des Hautes Etudes Européennes, and lecturing at the University of Strasbourg, Michel Matas worked as a partner in an English law firm, where he headed the telecoms practice of the Paris office. He was also legal director, compliance officer and member of the Comex of the Altice Group, a key player in the telecoms and media sectors, as well as the Indexia Group, European leader in the design and distribution of services for mobile telephony, multimedia and the web.

 

In addition to his knowledge of the telecoms and media sectors, he is involved in both transactional and contentious cases, covering aspects of private law, public law and competition law. He also has a solid experience in litigation involving technical and/or economic issues.
