De Gaulle Fleurance advises Kaiko on the acquisition of Cometh
De Gaulle Fleurance advised Kaiko, the world’s leading independent provider of market data and on-chain infrastructure for crypto-assets, on the acquisition of Cometh, a European provider of regulated DeFi infrastructure and holder of a Crypto-Asset Service Provider (CASP) authorization.
As part of this project, De Gaulle Fleurance advised Kaiko on regulatory matters and assisted with all procedures completed with the Autorité des Marchés Financiers (AMF), in relation to the specific challenges of crypto-asset services and the requirements of the MiCA Regulation.
This strategic transaction is in line with Kaiko’s growth trajectory and its aim to strengthen its offering of on-chain data and execution infrastructure for institutional players. It enables Kaiko to become the only independent provider offering end-to-end data infrastructure for crypto-assets, compliant with the most stringent European regulatory standards.
Founded in Europe, Cometh is a provider of DeFi infrastructure for financial institutions. The company holds a (CASP) authorization issued by the AMF in December 2025 and ISO 27001:2022 certification. It brings to Kaiko recognized expertise in blockchain engineering, on-chain development and the deployment of DeFi infrastructure across major distributed networks.
This acquisition enables Kaiko to strengthen its position with banks, asset management firms, index providers and market infrastructure providers developing tokenized products, stablecoin settlement mechanisms or financial instruments based on distributed ledgers, by combining market data, analytics, regulated indices and on-chain execution capabilities under MiCA authorization.
The Kaiko team was advised by our lawyers Anne Maréchal, partner, Julie Bader, Clara Zerbib and Irène L’Homme at De Gaulle Fleurance.
“This transaction illustrates the rapid evolution of the crypto-asset landscape and the growing influence of institutional players in these markets. We are proud to have advised Kaiko on the key regulatory issues surrounding this strategic acquisition,” comments Anne Maréchal, partner at De Gaulle Fleurance.
