De Gaulle Fleurance advised SunMind, a subsidiary of the VINCI group, on the creation of SunWave, an entity dedicated to decentralized solar energy in France.

SunMind, a VINCI subsidiary, designs, finances, builds, and operates photovoltaic power plants on behalf of companies and local authorities, with the aim of accelerating their decarbonization. The company is developing self-consumption projects and long-term power purchase agreements (off-site PPAs) in several European countries, for a total of over 425 MWp currently under development.

The result of a reorganization of SunMind, SunWave was created at the beginning of April in partnership with SunMind’s founder, Maxime Varin, whose mission will be to pilot the SunWave project.

SunWave’s mission is to offer solarization services to players in the real estate, industry, and local authority sectors, with a focus on decentralized projects in France, notably on rooftops and parking lots.

SunMind was advised by De Gaulle Fleurance:

  • Julie Cornély, Partner, Anne Kuhanathan, Senior Associate, and Manon Oravec, Experienced Associate, for the structuring, the implementation of the project and the drafting of the related transactional documentation,
  • Sylvie Perrin, Partner, Vahan Guevorkian, Senior Manager, and Pierre Bouijoux, Associate, for the financial aspects of the project,
  • Muriel Guillin-Modaine, Partner, and Jean-Philippe Minaud, Senior Manager, for real estate and regulatory issues,
  • Francine Le Péchon-Joubert, Partner, for intellectual property issues,
  • Claire Tergeman, Senior Counsel, for employment issues,
  • Lionel Attal, Senior Counsel, and Béatrice Boisnier, legal counsel, for contractual issues.

“We are proud to have contributed to the creation of SunWave, which enables real estate players, manufacturers and local authorities to accelerate and extend their use of renewable energies, thus facilitating their participation in the ecological transition,” explain Sylvie Perrin and Julie Cornély, Partners at De Gaulle Fleurance.
