De Gaulle Fleurance advised Abu Dhabi-based International Resources Holding (IRH) on its acquisition of a majority stake in Alphamin Resources Corp. (Alphamin), which owns the Bisie mine, one of the world’s richest tin deposits, located in North Kivu province in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).

The Bisie mine, which ranks among the leading global sources of tin, represents the strategic asset underpinning this transaction, thereby strengthening IRH’s position in the industrial metals sector.

As part of this acquisition, Laurence Vanderstraete, partner based in Abu Dhabi, and Lynda Belaid, senior manager based in Paris, acted as lead counsel to IRH on all aspects of the transaction relating to DRC law. Their advice covered the structuring of the transaction and relied on their in-depth knowledge of mining, corporate and sector-specific regulatory frameworks.

We are proud to have advised IRH in reinforcing its position among the key global players in the mining industry by leveraging our deep expertise in Congolese legal frameworks, including mining law, OHADA law, and the institutional and operational requirements that are essential for transactions of this scale,” stated Laurence Vanderstraete, Partner at De Gaulle Fleurance.
