Capucine du Pac de Marsoulies has developed a recognized expertise in international arbitration and major projects, mainly in Africa.

 

Capucine assists her clients, international and French groups as well as African States, in the context of their investments on the continent in the natural resources (mining, oil&gas), energy and infrastructure sectors. She assists them throughout the life of the projects, from their conception to their operation.

 

Capucine regularly acts as counsel and arbitrator in institutional or ad hoc arbitration and mediation proceedings (ICC, ICSID, CCJA, PCA, OHADA, etc.), mainly related to projects developed on the African continent. She assists her clients from the pre-arbitration phase to the enforcement of the award.

 

Capucine has developed a thorough knowledge of French-speaking African countries, as well as OHADA and regional business law (WAEMU, ECOWAS, etc.) and has practised in one of the leading law firms in Dakar (Senegal).

 

She is a regular speaker at conferences and the author of several articles and books in these fields. She teaches in the framework of the University Diploma of Economic Law in Africa at the University of Paris II Panthéon-Assas and the Master of Dispute Resolution at the EDGE Institute in Dakar.

 

Capucine is co-president and founder of AfricArb, an association of legal professionals with a shared interest in arbitration and Africa, member of the comex of the Africa-OHADA Commission of the Paris Bar and is also a member of the World Association Of Mining Lawyers (WAOML), Arbitral Women and the Association for the Promotion of Arbitration in Africa (APAA).
