De Gaulle Fleurance promotes Lionel Attal as a Partner
Lionel Attal advises French and international clients on business law, both in an advisory capacity and in litigation, across the healthcare, technology, and energy sectors. A skillful negotiator and business litigation strategist, he is valued for his cross-functional approach to cases.
Lionel Attal joined De Gaulle Fleurance in 2010 and has spent his entire career with the firm. There, he has acquired in-depth knowledge of business law, covering both advisory and litigation matters. He advises French and international clients across various sectors, ranging from healthcare to energy and technology. In one of his most recent cases, he recently filed a request for a preliminary ruling from the Court of Cassation to the CJEU regarding the abrupt termination of multi-jurisdictional commercial relationships.
Lionel Attal holds a degree in Anglo-American law (University of Cergy), a master’s in business law (Paris XII), a master’s in international law and management (HEC Paris), and a master’s in information systems and multimedia law (Strasbourg). As part of his studies, he attended the Juris Doctor program in the United States at the Maine School of Law (Portland).
He has been teaching law for over ten years at ESSEC as part of the Grande École program.
“I would like to thank all the partners at De Gaulle Fleurance for their trust, which I am honored to have,” said Lionel Attal, partner at De Gaulle Fleurance. “In a climate where commercial relations are becoming increasingly strained, litigation is becoming a preventive tool and a powerful lever for influencing negotiations. As a result, lawyers are now indispensable partners in a company’s development.”
“We congratulate Lionel on this promotion, which is a well-deserved recognition of his talent,” commented May Jarjour, a member of De Gaulle Fleurance’s executive committee. “Lionel plays a key role with our clients, whether it’s securing their commercial contracts or working with them to develop an effective litigation strategy that best protects their interests. He has also gained a deep understanding of the expectations and operations of major international groups.”
