Cédric Mutelet is an aeronautical engineer and an attorney specialized in Industrial Property law. He is mainly involved in patent law and collaborates transversally to the resolution of all types of cases by providing his Technical expertise.

He began his career in the Defense industry, contributing to the development of missiles for combat aircraft using metallic laser sintering. As an inventor on this occasion, his work was valorized through patent, which enabled him to discover the field of Industrial Property from a practical approach and to measure its importance in corporate strategy. Inspired by a profession dedicated to ensuring the legal protection of inventions, he embraced the Legal sector, training and working in several Parisian IP firms as a patent engineer before joining De Gaulle Fleurance.

As a specialist in patent law, Cédric is qualified to assist the clients of the firm in securing patent rights before national and supranational offices, and as well as in defending their interests in judicial and administrative litigation, in particular in opposition proceedings before the INPI and the EPO and the associated appeals.

He also carries out Due Diligence and prepares expert reports on freedom to operate, patentability, infringement and patent validity. He also assists clients in managing rights issues (employee inventions, misappropriation of patent rights) and contractual negotiations (licensing, assignment, co-ownership, research collaboration).

Complementarily, Cédric has also developed a practice of providing strategic support to R&D business units, from the pre-project phases of development, focused on evaluation of protection opportunities and on providing domain-specific analysis of legislation and risks, leading to recommendations aimed at maintaining a competitive edge.

He is a European Patent Attorney and a member of the French Aeronautical and Astronautical Association (3AF).
