A lawyer since 2014 (Paris Bar), Mohamed El Atfi assists companies in structuring investments, financing and cross-border transactions. In particular, he advises financial institutions, development banks, sovereign wealth funds and international groups. He is also a certified Islamic arbitrator and anexpert with the International Islamic Center for Reconciliation & Arbitration, in Dubai (UAE).
Prior to joining De Gaulle Fleurance EMEA in Abu Dhabi, he was an international civil servant in the legal department of the Islamic Development Bank (ICD), in Saudi Arabia, where he worked for 5 years, in particular on structured finance projects in Africa, in conjunction with financial institutions and regulatory bodies on the African continent. Finally, he has developed a specific expertise in OHADA law.
After obtaining a law degree from Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi, Mohamed El Atfi obtained a master’s degree in Economic Law from Sciences Po Paris and a master’s degree in Energy Law from the University of Aix-en-Provence/Institut National Supérieur des Techniques Nucléaires (CEA). He then completed the Executive Islamic Finance program from IE Business School/King Abdulaziz University in Saudi Arabia.
