De Gaulle Fleurance has advised THE FRAGRANCE DESIGNERS in connection with Kering Beauté’s acquisition of a stake in its capital to support the development of its MATIERE PREMIERE brand.

De Gaulle Fleurance has been managing for 7 years the worldwide portfolio of the MATIERE PREMIERE perfume brand owned by THE FRAGRANCE DESIGNERS and was therefore involved in Kering Beauté’s minority investment in the brand’s second fundraising operation.

Founded in 2019 by perfumer Aurélien Guichard, MATIERE PREMIERE is a sustainable and ethical French fragrance brand based on natural ingredients. The brand has enjoyed very strong growth and is now present in 50 countries with over 400 points of sale.

The funds provided by Kering Beauté should guarantee MATIERE PREMIERE significant growth, thanks to the support of one of the world’s leading luxury groups. MATIERE PREMIERE aims to strengthen its online presence as well as its physical presence on the market by opening its own points of sale.

In this transaction, THE FRAGRANCE DESIGNERS was advised by De Gaulle Fleurance on the intellectual property aspects, including the MATIERE PREMIERE brand (Francine Le Péchon Joubert, partner, and Céline Forthomme, senior legal manager) as well as by Rossi Bordès et Associés.

“This investment represents a crucial step for Matière Première, offering them not only financial support but also valued expertise for their global expansion,” explains Francine Le Péchon Joubert, partner at De Gaulle Fleurance.
