“Personal data protection and Cybersecurity” International companies face new European regulation

Transatlantic Perspective

Thursday 21, September 2017 From 9.00 till 10.30 a.m. reception and breakfast from 8.30

The new EU General Data Protection Regulation on the protection of personal data, entering into force on May 25 2018, concerns every company, situated in the EU or targeting EU citizens, and which collects, uses or stores personal data (clients’, prospects’, providers’, employees’, patients’ …). The NIS ("Network and Information Systems") Directive shall be transposed by all EU Member States before April 2018 in order to strengthen cybersecurity in networks and information systems. What will be their impact on commercial international partnerships, namely, between the European Union and North America? How do you prepare yourself for these new compliance requirements which, to mention personal data protection only, can trigger financial sanctions of up to 20 million euro or 4% of the company’s annual global turnover? How can you turn personal data protection and cybersecurity into your competitive advantages?

You are invited to share your thoughts with the legal team of De Gaulle Fleurance & Associés joined by two experts of the EU/US geopolitical ecosystem.

Key notes and debates will be held mostly in French.
