François Zocchetto’s dual experience as a lawyer and elected representative strengthens the firm’s skills in the service of public and private actors, particularly in matters of corporate law, tax law and public law.
François Zocchetto is a chartered accountant, a graduate of the Ecole supérieure de commerce de Paris (ESCP Europe) and the Institut d’études politiques (IEP) of Paris. He has been a member of the bar since 1987.
Mainly known to the general public for his career as an elected official (he held numerous mandates including Senator of the Mayenne department from 2001 to 2017 and Mayor of Laval since 2014), François Zocchetto began his private career with an audit/accounting and statutory auditor firm, and then founded in 1987 a law firm in business law for SMEs located in Paris and in Western France. He was a member of the French national Bar Council (Conseil de l’ordre des avocats) between 1990 and 1996, as well as of the French law professions reform Commission (Commission de réforme des professions du droit) chaired by Jean-Michel Darrois in 2008.
His multidisciplinary experience and knowledge of networks and development issues for mid-cap companies, in France but also in an international context (especially Italy and the Middle East), support the resources already allocated by De Gaulle Fleurance & Associés in corporate law, taxation and public issues – in particular major projects, contracts, urban planning, public procurement and public service delegation.
François Zocchetto explains his project: “I have experience of the law applied by public actors and companies. I have assisted numerous entities of various sizes – family companies, ETIs or subsidiaries of French and foreign groups – in restructuring, acquisition and transfer operations. I appreciate the cross-disciplinary approach to cases offered by De Gaulle Fleurance & Associés.”
